A hot, sunny Monday afternoon throughout Belgium, with highs ranging from 27 degrees in coastal areas to 34 degrees in Campine will be followed by a cooler evening and night, the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) stated on Monday in its midday forecast.
A moderate sea breeze will blow from north to northwest along the coast and in the west of the country in the late afternoon.

The weather will be calm on Monday evening and night, and the skies will be clear. Temperatures will drop to around 13 degrees in some valleys in the Ardennes, but will be higher -19 or 20 degrees – in big cities, with a slight wind from south to southwest.

Tuesday will also be sunny and the heat will be even more oppressive. The sky will, however, be cloudy in the afternoon and showers are not to be ruled out towards the end of the day. The barometer will climb to 30 degrees in Hautes-Fagnes and up to 36 or 37 degrees in localized areas in the centre of the country. In hinterland areas, a slight wing will blow in from the south, followed by a moderate wind coming in from the southwest. In coastal areas there will be a moderate northwest wind.

On Tuesday evening and night, the cloud cover will be variable, with a risk of showers and thunderstorms. Minimum temperatures will range from 16 to 20 degrees, with a slight to moderate wind blowing in variable directions. Gusts of wind may occur during the showers and storms.

On Wednesday, the sky will be cloudy to very cloudy with a risk of some showers, accompanied by localised thunderstorms. During the day the weather will become dry and the skies will clear up, starting with coastal areas. Highs will range from 22 degrees by the sea to 28 degrees in Belgian Lorraine.
