From the 8th to the 12th of October, Le Forem and the VDAB will join forces to encourage interregional mobility as part of “Work in Flanders week”.
The Walloon service organisation was publicising the event on Friday. The organisation helped more than 27,000 Walloons find a job in Flanders last year.

Around 30 activities will encourage job seekers to apply for jobs in Flanders as well as elsewhere in Belgium. Job seekers will have the chance to look up job opportunities in the north of Belgium, check out job offers, evaluate their language skills, look at the training available, register as a job seeker on the VDAB site, have their Dutch CV and motivation letter corrected and have job interview practice.

Walk-in sessions, individual coaching and information sessions will be held all over Wallonia. There will also be 2 Job Days (in Liège and Louvain-La-Neuve on the 12th of October) to help build connections between Walloon job seekers and Dutch-speaking employers. A third Job Day will be held in Mouscron on the 25th of October.

Contrary to popular belief, more than 80% of ads for jobs in Flanders distributed in Wallonia require no or very little knowledge of Dutch, Le Forem says in its statement.

Since January 2018, Le Forem has published more than 83,000 VDAB job opportunities.
