A man was overpowered by soldiers Friday after he had threatened train passengers with a knife at the Brussels-Midi station, Bruzz site reported Sunday.
The information was confirmed by the Brussels prosecutor, who stipulated that the individual had been placed under arrest.

A witness, who had seen the man with a knife getting on board, warned soldiers patrolling in the station. They then intervened to restrain the threatening individual and hand him over to the railways police.

“The individual was presented Saturday to a magistrate, and was placed under arrest for threatening and carrying a prohibited weapon. His mental state prevented him from being questioned,” the court spokesperson Ine Van Wymersch stipulated. As yet, nothing is known of his motives.
