Roof fire in Woluwe under control

Wednesday, 15 May 2019 17:12
In the Avenue des Franciscains in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre, the fire brigade have successfully got a roof fire under control, according to reports.

The fire had caused a plume of smoke that could be seen from afar. There were no injuries.

Around 15:35, the fire brigade received dozens of calls due to a fire in Woluwe-Saint-Pierre which was spreading on the roof of a four-storey apartment building. The fire brigade arrived a few minutes later to extinguish the fire.

The fire likely started during the work on the roof. It is not known how long it will take for the fire to be extinguished entirely. The fire brigade does, however, rule out the possibility that the fire might spread to other buildings.
