The United Kingdom can decide on its own to reverse its withdrawal from the European Union, without needing the approval of the other member States, the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) said in a ruling handed down on Monday.
The United Kingdom is free to revoke unilaterally the notification of its intention to withdraw from the European Union, the CJEU stated. However, it said any decision by the U.K. to revoke Brexit must taken “in accordance with its constitutional requirements”.

It would mean that the UK would remain in the Union “under terms that are unchanged as regards its status as a member state,” the court explained.
