A new 100 km hiking trail was launched this week in the Hoge Kempen National Park. It’s an astonishing route that takes in hills, wild moorland, lakes, woods and dunes.
Once you set off on the trail, you will hardly see a house or a road. And yet you are not far from large cities like Genk, Maasmechelen and Maastricht.
The entire hiking trail can be done over four days with stops at camp sites or B&Bs along the way. Or you can do a simple one-day ramble starting from one of the four entry points.
