A dozen trucks with aid supplies destined for Ukraine are standing still in Palace 11 at the Heysel in Brussels, as the aid organisation does not have enough funds to pay for the fuel.

The non-profit organisation Renaissance de la Nation has completely taken over a large part of Palace 11 with rows of relief goods. The organisation already sent 33 full trucks to Ukraine, but that is no longer possible, reports Belga News Agency.

"We are not getting enough funding at the moment. The account of the non-profit organisation cannot follow the demand for trucks," Sergiy Lytvyn of Renaissance de la Nation told VTM News. "There are too many trucks ready, but we cannot pay for the fuel."

Twelve trucks are waiting to leave and another fifteen are expected to come. Meanwhile, donations of tools continue to pour in from all over the country, but there is a lack of financial donations.

"There is also a need for sleeping bags, mattresses, small gas cylinders to heat up food, torches, food for babies, medicines and hygiene products," Lytvyn said.

Anyone wishing to help the aid organisation Renaissance de la Nation can do so by making a financial contribution on the account number BE05 0689 4463 9375.
