The E40 highway by exit 34 Haut-Sart, near Liège, has been closed due to an accident that took place early on Wednesday morning. Queues of ten kilometers are being reported.
A truck caught fire on the E40 near Herstal, a province of Liège, according to Liège firefighters and federal police. The driver was injured and the highway closed. The driver's life is not in danger, federal police told Belga News Agency.
The vehicle fell on its side and caught fire at 03:40 Wednesday morning on the E40 highway towards Brussels from Herstal.

The truck had been transporting straw, and blocked two lanes of traffic after falling, prompting federal police to close the motorway.
On Wednesday morning, road maintenance arrived at the scene to clear up the road. The highway is still closed and traffic has been diverted.
