Gong Cha, a Taiwanese chain specialising in bubble tea, will soon open several locations in Belgium. The company, which already has locations in 20 countries, plans to open 10 stores in Belgium, the first of which will be in Docks Bruxsel.
The Taiwanese staple drink combines sweet flavours with milk and, often, tapioca pearls. Bubble tea has become increasingly popular with several speciality stores already open in Brussels and elsewhere in Europe.
Mad Vision, a multi-brand franchise operator, announced that the opening of the several locations in Belgium would provide 50 jobs and that the Brussels location should open within a couple of weeks, according to La Libre reports.
Founded in 1996, Gong Cha now already has 1,650 stores. After a location in Brussels is established, more stores in Genk, Tournai, Ghent and Antwerp will follow.
