Parts of southern France have been ravaged by forest fires stoked by drought and temperatures above 30°c, Belga News Agency reports.

Near the city of Narbonne, on the border with Spain, some 300 firefighters were mobilised against a blaze that engulfed some 120 hectares of forest.

No victims were reported, nor were any buildings damaged.

On the Côte d’Azur, fire broke out in a mountainous area near the town of Grasse. The local fire service reported on Saturday that 150 firefighters were deployed to fight that fire, in difficult terrain.
