In March as we were in the midst of preparing for lockdown, we received the confirmation that we were successful in completing the final stage of the MYP authorisation, and have been waiting for the appropriate time to make the announcement.
This MYP authorisation process looked closely at the way the school operates, from the underlying philosophy and how, through policies and practices, these align with those of the IBO.
The visiting team closely read all our planning and written curriculum, assessment tasks, timetables, our marked and displayed student work.
After meeting with the BEPS board, all the Secondary School teachers, students, and parents, the IB team commended us on our individualised approach to learning and embodiment of the fundamentals of the International Baccalaureate Organisation.
We received a number of commendations and no ‘matters to be addressed’ (which is the best possible scenario).
We now join 5,277 other schools across 156 countries offering one or more of the four IB programmes (PYP, MYP, Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme).
The next steps in our journey are to begin with application for the Diploma and Career-related Programmes, so that BEPS becomes a school offering a complete educational package for learners from 2,5 – 18 years.
