Although Belgium tops the rankings as one of the most popular expat destinations in Europe, integrating fully into the national system can still have some challenges. Rules and regulations regarding real estate, taxes or pension can be difficult to understand as a foreigner.

“Quality of speakers, selection of topics, usefulness of information - a really successful seminar.” EFA Spring 2021

In 2013, the British Chamber of Commerce EU and Belgium, held the first  ‘Expat Financial Affairs’ (EFA) event, to provide financial advice and support for non-Belgians resident here. The original sponsors were The Fry Group & ING, who are back again with an evening with information and tips on how to help you understand and manage your financial life better.

‘How can I invest sustainably?’

Whether you are intending to make Belgium your long-term home, or are here for several years working for an international company or one of the European institutions, this event covers all matters related to financial planning in Belgium, including investment, entrepreneurship, and retirement.

‘How do I buy a house in Belgium?’

The EFA hosts presenters from some of Belgium’s top institutions, including sponsors ING Belgium & The Fry Group. Presentations are divided into different sessions focusing on a specific topic, which are then followed by a Q&A where you will have the opportunity to receive advice and guidance on your specific issues.

“The presentations were all very interesting with excellent speakers.” EFA Spring 2021
