On Monday, the Film Selection Committee of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation stated that it has selected 47 film and television projects that will receive financial support. These film projects, including 19 feature films, 10 short films, 14 documentaries and 4 television dramas, will receive writing, development or production assistance for a total amount of EUR 3,267,000. The projects selected include the movie “The new testament” by Jaco Van Dormael who is already well known in Belgian cinema thanks to his previous “Toto the Hero”, “The Eighth Day” and “Mr. Nobody.” His new comedy which began shooting this summer, is the result of collaboration with screenwriter Thomas Gunzig .
The film will receive production assistance, as will the next film by Hélène Cattet and Bruno Forzani, who received support from the Audiovisual Cinema Centre (CCA) for ” The Strange Colour of Your Body’s Tears, “in 2011. The second film by Frédéric Dumont (after”An Angel at Sea “)” AnimaL “as well as” Royal Kebab “, by Peter Brosens and Jessica Woodworth, were also selected.
The Selection Committee has also decided to support the directorial debut of actress Pauline Etienne.
