World Premiere of "The Loft" at the 41st International Film Festival in Ghent

"The Loft", the American remake of the film by Eric Van Looy, opened the 41st edition of the Ghent Film Festival.  Matthias Schoenaerts, the only one of the “five friends" of the original Flemish film of the same name, was not present on Tuesday. He is currently filming in France. Writer Bart De Pauw accompanied director Eric Van Looy and Australian actresses Isabel Lucas and Rachael Taylor.

The international judges’ panel as well as its president, writer Bret Easton Ellis (“American Psycho”) was present on the red carpet.

Prince Laurent drew attention by boarding a taxi-bike instead of taking the shuttle to Kinepolis .

This year, the Ghent Film Festival is celebrating the work of Italian director Fellini, and the French cinema. Belgian movies will not be left out since ten national, European, and international world premieres are to take place.

The event will continue until October 25th. Over 100 films will be presented including, student short films, the 325-minute film by Lars Von Trier, and the 'director's cut' of Nymphomaniac.
