European Film Awards: double nomination for “Two Days, One Night” by the Dardenne brothers

The film “Two Days, One Night” by the Belgian directors Jean-Pierre and Luc Dardenne has been nominated for two categories of the 27th European Film Awards, which will take place on the 13th of December in Riga, the festival organizers announced on Saturday. The Dardenne brother’s film will compete for “Best European scriptwriter” with the two directors and “Best European actress” with Marion Cotillard, who had the main role.

One of the hot favourites for the 27th European Film Awards is the polish film “Ida”, directed by Pawel Pawlikowski, whi has been nominated for “Best European Film”, “Best European Director”, “Best European Scriptwriter”, and twice for “Best European actress”.

“Leviathan”, the film by the Russian director Andrey Zvyagintsev, has been nominated four times. Three films have three nominations; “Nymphomaniac Director’s Cut –Vol 1 & 2” by Lars Von Trier, “Winter Sleep” by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, and “Locke” by Steven Knight.
