Never mind the Oscars, the nominations for the visit.brussels Awards 2015 have been revealed

With public voting closed for the awards and almost 8,500 votes cast, the three tourist initiatives in Brussels nominated in each category can now be revealed and start battling it out for the grand finale. Over a period of three weeks, 8,483 people have picked what they felt were the initiatives that contributed most actively in making Brussels an internationally renowned capital.

This marks a great improvement on last year, as in 2014 there were 6,033 valid votes.

From the 74 projects submitted in the nine different categories, there are only 27 left.

It will now be up to the panel made up of professionals from the tourism industry to choose the winner in each category. The winners will be announced on 26 March.
