One thousand football hooligans expected for the final between Anderlecht and Bruges

Police are expecting between 600 and 1,000 football hooligans in Brussels on Sunday, for the final between Anderlecht and Bruges. Officers from all over the country will be called upon to help avoid incidents, the Het Laaste Nieuws reported on Thursday. 700 stewards will be present at the Roi Baudouin stadium, La Dernière Heure and Het Laaste Nieuwsblad added. Around 300 members of Bruges’ East-Side will make the journey, and around the same number for the West-Side and members of the Brussels Casual Service (BCS). Fights are expected around the stadium. According to several sources, the police have already contacted the Prosecutor’s office about it. No details have been released, but police from all over the country should be mobilised on Sunday. In total, 700 stewards will be present in the Roi Baudouin stadium: 120 from Anderlecht, 90 from Bruges, and 490 from other clubs, La Dernière Heure said. The supporters will be thoroughly searched before going in.
