220 drug consumers and 2 drug dealers arrested at Reggae festival

The local police arrested 220 people who were consuming drugs (mostly cannabis) during the famous Geel Reggae festival in Belgium last weekend. This is a significant increase compared to last year, the police announced. The festival is known for the high drug consumption and the authorities wanted to carry out a “squeeze” this year.

People in possession of drugs had to pay an immediate fine of 75 euro, and in the case of harder drug possession, the fine is 150 euro.

Over 50 000 people attened the Reggae festival this year, which saw big acts from Capleton, Black Uhuru and Raging Fyah.
