New Art Fair in Brussels

The first edition of the Brussels Fine Art Fair will take place at Brussels Expo from September 20th- 25th. Created by father and son duo Jean-Pierre and Nicolas Defossé, who bring together thirty-five years of experience in the organization of art and antiques fairs. Covering a wide range of art from antiquity to the contemporary era the fair is however very selective in the choice of exhibitors. These events attract many lovers of ancient and contemporary art who come out to admire rare and often expensive works: "it’s enchanting to the eye, but these treasures are inaccessible to the majority of visitors”.

The BFAF will bring together about a hundred exhibitors from Belgium, France, the Netherlands, England, Spain, Luxemburg, Germany. The exhibitors are all specialists in their own era and culture and will bring paintings, drawings, sculptures, silverware, jewellery, tribal art, Asian Art, furniture, works of art, books, prints, curiosities, porcelain and ceramics, clocks, glass, comics and original drawings.

"Brussels, the European capital of art and culture, can not currently accommodate all the many excellent international antique dealers and galleries who wish to present their discoveries," the duo explain. The idea of a new event in Brussels was developed in consultation with them. And therefore, the BFAF - Brussels Fine Art Fair was born.

"For the first edition, we primarily want to interest and retain all the amateurs and collectors of the country. Then we will try to convince and attract as many international collectors as possible”, says Nicolas. Indeed, "before reaching an international future, it is essential to convince those around us."
