17th edition of Bruxelles les Bains great success thanks to the weather

The 17th edition of Bruxelles les Bains, which closed Sunday evening, was a great success, and these last weeks’ summer weather had a lot to do with it, the event organizers are pleased to say, even if they do not yet have the attendance figures at their disposal. “The 17th edition is a good year. The merchants are satisfied, as the weather made this edition a success. It has been very hot, the reason why we installed water sprays. There is, of course, more air and wind on the canal banks,’’ explains Marina Bresciani, of Brussels Major Events.

Moreover, the weekly closing day of the urban beach had been pushed forward from Monday to Tuesday, to coincide with the Kanal Museum which opened last May. As for the sports zone, it had been enlarged, and the public benefitted as always from many refreshment stands. The sports zone situated on Béco Quai had also been expanded. “This was a good decision. The atmosphere there was more intimate, due to the presence of the Latina bar,’’ Marina Bresciani went on.

Bruxelles les Bains, however, will have to find another location next year, because of the renovation of the Kanal Museum situated on the canal. “This is a challenge, and we already have several options, but no decision has yet been made,’’ concludes Marina Bresciani.
