Pukkelpop - Kendrick Lamar closes the 33rd edition of Pukkelpop

The 33rd Pukkelpop music festival ended on Saturday evening. The festival attracted a large crowd on its last day, with concerts by J. Bernardt, Bazart, Imagine Dragons and Kendrick Lamar (among others). The organisation has announced a significant change for next year: the festival will begin on a Thursday and not a Wednesday. It will also end on a Sunday and not a Saturday.

Californian rapper Kendrick Lamar had the honour of closing the 2018 edition of the Pukkelpop festival. He performed on the Main Stage on Saturday, after performances by J. Bernardt, Bazart and Imagine Dragons.

Electronic music fans were not left wanting, as they could enjoy gigs by Tiga, Justice and Kölsch.

Hard-core party-goers met up in the Boiler Room or Castello: Michael Midnight played at one place and Bram Williams at the other. They kept the music going and the dancefloor busy until the early hours.

The Pukkelpop festival will start on Thursday the 15th of August and end on Sunday the 18th of August next year. This marks the end of the tradition of Pukkelpop starting on a Wednesday. “We are trying to reinvent ourselves again and again. Pukkelpop is the festival of experimentation by excellence, in every domain. Why not with the calendar too?”, says the festival’s organiser Chokri Mahassine. “The 15th also falls on a Thursday, which is a bank holiday. This is an ideal for a fantastic long weekend in Kiewit”.
