An international beard and moustache championship took place last weekend in Antwerp.
Prizes were awarded on Saturday in 18 categories, from “Dali” to “Alaskan whalers”.
Antwerp’s moustache-wearers club organized the 14th edition of the World Beard and Moustache Championships from Friday to Sunday. The club determines each year the “Belgian moustache of the year” and has been participating since 2005 in the international championship. But this was its first time to organize the event (in Texas in 2018).
About 500 participants from twenty countries competed in different categories to win the title of the most beautiful beard or moustache on the planet.
Three “disciplines” are taken into account: beards, partial beards and moustaches.
Women also competed on Friday evening for their specific categories (most realistic; most creative).
