A 10-year-old boy died on Saturday after being hit by a car in Saint-Nicolas (East Flanders). The accident took place around 4:00p.m. on De Meerleerstraat. The circumstances around the incident are still unclear, but it would seem the child, who was cycling on the pavement, fell into the street. A car driving on the road at that time was unable to avoid hitting the boy who later died from his injuries. The public prosecutor’s department in Termonde has appointed an expert to establish the precise causes of this tragedy.
