Two children approached by occupants of a suspicious van in the province of Liège

While a ten year old child was approached on Wednesday by the occupants of a suspicious van in Huy, a similar incident also took place last Sunday in the Saint-Leonard district in Liege. Wednesday, at 12:00, a 10-year old from Huy was returning home on foot when he was accosted by the driver of a black van on the bridge over the railway, the road between Liege and Ste-Yvette at Huy. The driver spoke to the child; however what was said is still unclear. The boy immediately fled.  In shock, the child has not yet had a filmed interview, but the investigation continues.

On Thursday, the Liege judicial authorities informed the court that a complaint had been filed with the local police in Liege after a girl was approached in the Saint-Leonard district by two men in a black van. According to the preliminary results of the investigation, one of the individuals had a beard.  These similar events were reported on Sunday in Liège.

There are similarities in the two cases. The investigation is underway to find the two occupants of the suspicious van, but at present no arrests have been made.
