TC Charleroi - Trial of former FN municipal councilor postponed to October 17th

The criminal court of Charleroi has postponed the trial of the former municipal councilor, Olivier Delcourt, prosecuted for rebellion and racial abuse. Elected in 2006, Olivier Delcourt, during the inauguration of the municipal council, made a Nazi salute for which he was sentenced to a fine of € 1,100. The fine was then increased to 2,200 euros on appeal. He was also disqualified from serving in office for a period of five years and expelled from the  National Front (FN).

He was referred to the criminal court of Charleroi once again, this time for resisting a bailiff and police officers who showed up at his home in Jumet. He alluded to the foreign origin of one of the agents, and prevented the bailiff from entering his home. He denied the allegations.

During the hearing, he also insulted his lawyer, accusing her of not knowing the law. She resigned as his counsel and left the room.

On Friday, the Criminal Court postponed the Charleroi trial to October 17th.
