A suspected thief who was planning to break into a house through a skylight, spent the night on the roof of the house located on Rue de Heusy in Verviers, said Weser area police on Thursday. The thief spent Wednesday night on the roof, afraid of entering the house. After being released from a drunk tank, the man, about forty years old, decided to break into the house through the open skylight. To get in he climbed a tree near the front of the house and climbed onto the roof.
“Once on the roof he realized it was very slippery. Panicked, he remained glued to the spot until a woman noticed him on the roof, around 7:00 AM,” said the police.
Firefighters were called to the scene to help the man off the roof.
