A wildcat strike has been underway on the rail network around La Louvière since Friday morning at 4.35a.m., reports SNCB spokesman Thierry Ney. Train drivers and attendants have invaded the rails and traffic is disrupted traffic on the following lines - 112 (La Louvière - Charleroi), 118 (Mons - La Louvière), 116 (La Louvière - Manage) and 108 (Binche - La Louvière). It is unclear at present why workers have downed tools.
"We strongly condemn this strike as it holds travelers hostage," said Mr. Ney.
