Train operators stop work in Liege-Guillemins

At dawn on Tuesday a certain number of train drivers refused to start work at Liege-Guillemins station. A few trains have already been cancelled, said a SNCB spokesperson at 5a.m. Travellers can therefore expect substantial disruption to train traffic. The SNCB invites all travellers to check its website and phone apps for information on cancelled trains and affected lines.

This show of discontent is taking place the day after train drivers went on strike in Charleroi-Sud. They had stopped working at about 3.45a.m. to protest in particular against the lack of clarity in the governmental agreement and the ‘shambolic’ budgets available to the SNCB in coming years.
