Crisis Centre to raise public awareness of risks

The Federal Public Service for Home Affairs (SPF Intérieur) Crisis Centre has set up a website with the aim of raising public awareness of the risks they may face in their daily life. The web portal, www.info-risques.be, is a source of information on  various natural or technological risks, such as floods, storms, power cuts and industrial accidents. "In the modern world we live in, ensuring safety through risk management is a daily concern for almost all socio-economic sectors", explained the Crisis Centre in a statement on Monday.

Our aim is to advise members of the public on how to be better equipped to deal with an emergency. The site gives information on, among others, how to prepare a safety emergency kit, how to find adequate shelter or how to evacuate. It also deals with the possibility of an energy shortage this winter.

The Crisis Centre added that the content of the site and the risk categories will be expanded as time goes on.
