Transport schedules tweaked for Christmas and New Year period

Transport schedules will be adapted this year again to suit the Christmas holidays, as will the opening hours of banks and bpost offices. Several trains will not be running between Monday, December 22nd and Friday, January 2nd, December 24th, 26th and 31st being the days with the lightest public transport schedule. During Christmas and New Year rail traffic will be similar to a Sunday service.

In Brussels, on New Year's Eve, people will be able to get around on Stib trams and subways free of charge until 2:00am. Noctis buses will also be free until 5:30am. Tramlines 3, 4, 7, 19, 39, 92 and 94 will exceptionally be in service until 2:15am. The remaining time, the STIB will adopt the schedule typically used during school holidays.

The entire TEC network will be free for passengers from 7:00am on December 31st to 9:00am on January 1st.

Post offices will close at 4:00pm at the latest on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. The opening times of post office points will depend on the schedule of shops in the area around them. Bpost offices and banks will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day.
