The day before Jeremy Pierson was arrested for the kidnapping, rape and murder of Beatrice Berlaimont and the rape of a 23-year-old female driver, a stolen Alfa Romeo was given chase in Luxemburg, according to Monday’s edition of Le Soir. The paper reports that for various reasons investigators wonder if the vehicle is linked to the case of the disappearance of the 14-year-old. The federal public prosecutor and the Arlon prosecutor’s office were not confirming the information this morning. The Alfa Romeo was chased by the Luxemburg police near Frisange on Monday December 8th, and found in Saint-Avold in France, approximately 130km from Arlon. The file on this car chase is in the hands of the French public prosecutor at the district court in Sarreguemines. Jeremy Pierson was notorious for stealing cars.
The Alfa Romeo was reputedly stolen in Wolkrange, a village close to where Beatrice’s body was found on December 1st. The driver of the vehicle took incredible risks in order to flee the police, according to Le Soir.
The driver almost caused several accidents in Frisange, driving at high speed, running red lights, and also driving along the motorway into oncoming traffic in a bid to to avoid a roadblock. The runaway managed to disappear into thin air in spite of serious damage to his vehicle.
“We are interested in this car as part of the investigation into Pierson, a known car thief in the broadest sense. However we cannot yet establish a direct link between this vehicle and the “Beatrice” case or the case of the young rape victim,” a source close to the investigation admitted to the daily paper.
