Belgocontrol is recruiting air traffic controllers for the first time in 5 years

Belgocontrol, the independent public company that insures navigating Belgian airspace is safe, are recruiting air traffic controllers. This is the first time since 2010. The company is looking for twelve people, who will start a two year training course in August. Those interested have until the 6th of February to apply. Candidates must have at least a Secondary school diploma, be a European citizen, and provide a character reference. They must also have a good knowledge of English.

Belgocontrol expects between 1,000 and 1,200 applicants. There will be several tests (skills test, medical check-up, interviews with a psychologist etc) to choose 12 successful candidates. After a paid training course of two years, the successful candidates will work in the control tower at one of the Belgian airports. They are in Antwerp, Brussels, Charleroi, Liège and Ostende.

Around 270 air traffic controllers currently work for Belgocontrol.
