Man's body found in port of Ghent

The body of a 79-year-old man who had been missing since the end of last year was discovered in the port of Ghent on Thursday around noon, the Ghent section of East Flanders Prosecutor's Office has announced. It is thought the death is accidental

The body was spotted floating in the water along Wondelgemkaai. The man was recovered and identified as the man in his 70s, last spotted near his home on Christmas Day. The medical examiner's findings have ruled out any criminal link and point to an accident.
