Serge Rozen elected head of Coordinating Committee of Jewish Organisations in Belgium

Serge Rozen has been elected CCOJB president with a 90% majority at the AGM, announced Coordinating Committee of Jewish Organisations in Belgium in a statement on Friday. Serge Rozen, currently also head of the Chaim Foundation and a civil engineer, will head the Committee for the next three years, replacing Maurice Sosnowski who led the CCOJB for five years.

In its statement, the CCOJB said, "Serge Rozen plans to strengthen the Committee's stance and dialogue with the political authorities to make sure safety measures are implemented to tackle all anti-Semitic tendencies so the Jewish community can feel safe in its future here in Belgium."

The new Management Committee will be elected on March 19th, completing the CCOJB executive body. The CCOJB is the academic branch of Belgian Judaism. It doesn't deal with religious matters, which are dealt with by the Consistory, the statement said.
