Enough of community issues: this is what voters from the north of the country think. And it is the main finding of a post-electoral poll of 1,183 Flemish speakers by KUL (Catholic university of Leuven), reported by Le Soir, De Standaard, and Het Nieuwsblad on Tuesday. The study shows that only 5.7% of voters are still following the administrative reforms, as opposed to 19.7% in 2010, and 13.3% in 2007.
The preferred institutional option for respondents has evolved in the same way. Whereas in 2010, 52% hoped for more autonomy for regions and local communities, only 36.4% felt the same in 2014.
Over half of voters polled (56.7%) claimed they felt part of Belgium first, before Flanders (27.7%).
