Baby elephant “Q”, born at Planckendael on the 22nd of April, died on Wednesday, the animal park announced on Thursday. The little elephant, who had been very weak since birth, was being fed on artificial milk. The little elephant was also suffering from jaundice.
“We are grieving. “Q”, our baby elephant, has died. He didn’t make it, despite all our efforts over the last few weeks. He passed away yesterday, 4 weeks after his birth on the 22nd of April. The staff that had been looking after him were with him. The herd was also able to say goodbye”, the park said.
