The port of Antwerp handled 104.53 million tons of goods in the first half of 2015, 6.4% more than in the same period in 2014. Container traffic registered a 9.5% increase to 4.84 million containers TEU (20-foot equivalent units), announced Antwerp port authorities on Friday. The increased container traffic, reaching +7.5% in tons (57.5 million tons), is due to agreements between various ship owners. Roll-on/roll-off traffic increased by 3.9% to reach 2.44 million tons.
