Record year for Ghent Jazz Festival with 38,000 Festival –goers

This year’s Ghent Jazz Festival, which ended on Saturday evening, will go down in history, as over 38,000 people attended. This is the biggest turnout ever, the organisers have said. This was the Festival’s 14th year. Tickets were sold out for all five days of the festival, which took place from the 10th to the 18th of July. “There was already a huge crowd during the first concerts in the afternoon, thanks to the themed program”, explained Bertrand Flamang, the (very happy) festival organiser. Performances by Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Zaz, Rodrigo and Gabriela, and Gregory Porter were particularly well attended.
