Man who took selfie with Princess Claire arrested for suspicious behaviour

The man arrested on Tuesday’s Fête Nationale after he took a selfie with Princess Claire as she left the Te Deum commemoration in Mons, was taken in for questioning about his suspicious behaviour. The 20-year-old from Mons was arrested after taking pictures of the security arrangements in place. He was released late on Tuesday evening.  According to Mons police, the man was not arrested because of the selfie. “He was arrested on the basis of several photos he took of the security measures in place and of several phone calls he made whilst he was taking the pictures,” pointed out Philippe Borza, Mons police commissioner. “An investigation got underway and his home was searched to find any leads which would explain his behaviour,” added the commissioner, explaining that the case had been referred to the public prosecutor.
