The tax department has started systematically telephoning companies that are late paying their taxes, to remind them to pay. This system led to it being paid 28 million euros it was owed during the first four months of 2015, the Mediahuis papers said on Saturday. In total, 21,055 companies got a call from the Finance SPF. The aim is to encourage those who pay late to pay as soon as possible, and therefore avoid them having to pay extra costs.
