Four STIB inspectors in hospital after an inspection

STIB inspectors were attacked by a group of youths at around 7am on Sunday. It happened in the Porte de Hal metro station, La Dernière Heure and la Libre Belgique reported on Monday. Four inspectors had to be taken to hospital. The 5 youths that attacked the inspectors were part of a group of 15 who didn’t have tickets. “There was verbal aggression, and then blows were exchanged. The inspectors called for reinforcements.

The other half of the team joined them, but it was the police arriving that saved them”, a Union source revealed. Four inspectors had to be taken to hospital. Three suffered bruises and contusions. The patrol chief has a broken foot.
