No course of action decided as yet for newborn abandoned in Saint-Trond

The newborn found abandoned at the roadside by a bus driver in Kortenbos (Saint-Trond) on Tuesday is still in hospital. Several courses of action were discussed at a coordination meeting on Wednesday but no decision has yet been made for little Marie.

The meeting was organised by Saint-Trond CPAS so that the various actors in the youth field could discuss options for the little girl. “Each of the organisations attending put forward solutions within their area of expertise that would enable Marie to be taken care of in the best possible conditions,” explained Pascy Monette, president of CPAS. “We are now going to collate all the information and decide on the most appropriate course of action.”

The CPAS meeting has already been scheduled and the president of CPAS has been appointed the newborn’s legal guardian. Marie will remain in hospital for the time being.
