Mysterious messages signed “paroles de Licorne” put behind Stib signs

On Friday, mysterious messages signed “paroles de Licorne”, or Unicorn words, appeared behind the glass that protects Stib signs which show passengers information on timetables, journeys, or work in progress. Stib found 16 on Saturday, but there could be more. Some of the messages have been taken away, according to Stib spokesman Françoise Ledune. It is not known who is behind “paroles de Licorne”.

“If you are waiting for a Unicorn, be patient. It will come to you when you love it so much it will make your heart bigger”. “The Unicorn knows that its presence calms. Be that presence for your friend when they are unhappy when they call you”. Since Friday, a large number of this type of numbered message has appeared over signs that give passengers information about public transport hold ups in the capital. It is not yet known who the author or authors are.

The messages have appeared behind the glass that protects the signs. There is no trace of damage, so the author must have had an Allen key to open the signs. “The messages are taken away as we find them. We are not happy, as the author is tampering with signs that don’t belong to them, and covering up information that passengers need”, says Stib spokesman Françoise Ledune.
