The Stib is firing workers they consider “radicalized”

The Stib is firing a group between 4 and 5 workers who security services have said are “radicalized” or “represent a danger due to their radical Muslim activities”, the Echo reported on Saturday. It was quoting reliable independent sources.

Some of the workers travelled to Turkey and/or Syria or join or contact the Islamic State.

Some of those who travelled to Syria were on “sick leave”, which makes the firings sensitive. In fact there is no law that allows companies to fire people for “radicalization” or taking trips abroad.

When asked, the Stib boss, Brieuc de Meeüs, refused to confirm or deny the information.
