Bernard Wesphael - Two books about the case to be published at the end of the trial

The editor Now Future announced Tuesday in a statement that two books would be published after the trial of the former Walloon MP Bernard Wesphael, who is expected to appear in Court in Mons on February 22, 2016. The first book will be published the day after the verdict. It will be written by Bernard Wesphael himself, with a preface by his friend John Thiel. "The book is a moving testimony about his life as a widower, indicted for the murder of his wife, and about the painful life of the deceased", said the publisher. They added that the accused would not comment on the book before the trial, to avoid influencing the future jury. "This is a pleading of the defendant himself", said Patrick Bartholomew, from the publisher’s communication department.

The second book will be published a few weeks later. The lawyer and journalist Alessandra d’Angelo will tell the course of the trial from the defence’s point of view. "The reader will be immersed with the defence team, and the book does in no way pretend to be objective”, specified the editor. The book will also include "a comment on the verdict and an analysis of the problems and procedural anomalies encountered during the investigation", said the publisher.
