Delhaize recalls chicory heads suspected of containing pesticides

Delhaize is asking customers to bring back Delhaize-brand chicory heads to their stores if they come from Marcus Adams suppliers, reveals the supermarket chain on Friday. Random testing showed the presence of dimethoate and omethoate, pesticides which can be dangerous if consumed in large quantities.

Only chicory heads with a label saying the supplier is Marcus Adams are affected.  This concerns soil-grown chicory heads packaged between December 5th and December 12th.

Delhaize is asking people who bought these products not to eat them but to bring them back to their stores, where they will get their money back. For more information, customers can call on free-phone 0800/95.713.
