Brussels Airlines flew 7.5 million passengers in 2015; record growth

Brussels Airlines flew a total of 7.5 million passengers in 2015, a 12.1% growth compared to 2014 and 30% compared to 2013, revealed the airline on Tuesday, adding that 2015 saw “its strongest growth rate ever for the number of passengers.” “This increase is due to both tempting tariffs and high-quality customer service, and is much higher than the European average and to the average increase in the number of Belgians flying,” notes the Belgian firm, delighted, in a press release.

The increase in the number of passengers flying to and from European destinations reaches 12.1% whereas the number of passengers to and from Africa rose by 9.3%.

The load factor grew 2.4% to reach 74.4%.

Only damper in this particularly positive outlook: Brussels Airlines noticed a “temporary growth deceleration towards the end of the year because of the terror threat weighing down on Brussels at the end of November.”
