Liège airport closed since Friday morning

Liège airport was closed at 5:30am on Friday, following heavy snowfall in the region, revealed Liège Airport Director of Communications Christian Delcourt at midday. “Our teams have been working ceaselessly since this morning. The airstrip is now clear but it is starting to snow again,” he added.

The greatest problems arose between 5:30am and10:30 am. Eighteen TNT flights managed to leave but nineteen could not take off between 4:00am and 7:00am. TNT will need to adjust its schedules, “based not only on weather conditions but also on time spent onboard flights, as a crew flying at night cannot fly again on the same day.” No passenger flights were scheduled on time today whether for landing or departure.
