1000-plant Limburg Cannabis crop taken apart

Local police in Lanaken-Maasmechelen smoked out a cannabis crop comprising 1,000 cannabis plants in the village of Maasdorp Kotem in Maasmechelen. The crop was taken apart and disposed of with civil protection assistance. Half of the plants were ripe for harvest. Illegal electrical equipment had been installed to supply energy to the crop. The occupants of the premises were not present. Local police are leading an investigation.

This is first cannabis crop unearthed this year by the police in Lanaken-Maasmechelen. Last year, up to and including November, the number totalled 29 crops in this area.
