Inflation has increased to 1.74%, having increased to 1.5% in December 2015, the FPS Economy (which contributes to the development of goods and services markets) announced on Thursday. This was the highest increase since December 2012. The Consumer Price Index increased by 0.11 points to 101.59. The health index has increased by 0.19 points over the course of the past month to reach 102.42 points. Inflation calculated on the basis of the health index has reduced from 1.82% to 1.80%.
The key public service and welfare benefits index fixed at 101.02 points was not exceeded this month, adds the FPS Economy. The last time the key index was exceeded goes back to November 2012.
The main price increases relate to vehicle purchases, alcoholic drinks, clothing, non-alcoholic drinks, electricity and health insurance. The increases were mainly compensated by the decrease in the price of fuel oils, natural gas and heating oil.
